Training for Childminders
Participation in training is seen as a good indicator of quality childcare. Childminders are strongly encouraged to participate in training and are offered a range of options. Most courses are run in the evenings to accommodate working hours. These include;
FETAC Accredited Courses:
- Certificate in Childcare – part-time evening course over two years
- After-School Care - 1 module 10weeks
- Childminding Professional Practice – 1 module 10weeks
- Arts & Crafts – 1 module 10weeks
- Caring for Children with Special Needs -1 module 10weeks
Other Related Courses
· Play & the Developing Child – IPPA – 10 weeks
· Quality Awareness Programme – Introduction to Childminding – 12 hours
· First Aid
· Child Welfare & Protection - 2 evenings
· Arts & Crafts – 1 evening workshop
· Music & Movement for children – 1 evening workshop
