New Strategic Plan for Childcare in Waterford City
The four year strategic plan ‘Advancing Childcare and Early Education for Every Child’ (2007-2010)was launched on 10th Dec 2007 by Minister Martin Cullen TD.
The strategic plan is available in three formats: the full report, the executive summary and the user friendly guide. The user friendly guide is available in five additional languages, being Russian, Irish, Chez, Polish and French.

1. Guide to Training in Childcare and Social Care in Waterford – commissioned by Waterford City Childcare Committee and Waterford Childcare Forum in 2003.
This publication gives a summary of all the training available in Waterford City and gives additional information about training, career prospects, accreditation etc. The report was researched and written by Community Consultants.
2. Children, Diversity & Childcare – commissioned by the Childcare Committee in 2003
The research which examined the situation for certain minority groups in Waterford City explored how the needs and rights of children in these groups could best be met through the provision of comprehensive, inclusive quality childcare. The research was carried out and written by Michael Rush.
3. Professional Development in the Childcare Sector in Waterford City and County: A Discussion Paper 2005.
Waterford City and County CCCs undertook this piece of research in 2004. The research examined the levels of experience, training, networking, employment practice, pay and working conditions, membership of Trade Unions etc The research explored factors which affect professional development. The research was launched in may 2005.
