Noirin Healy-Magwa – Co-ordinator
 
Noirin is a teacher  and trainer by profession, and has completed her Masters Degree in Education. She has taught in Ireland, London and in Southern Africa. In her last assignment overseas with UNICEF she managed an Early Childcare Programme in Zimbabwe. On returning to Ireland she worked as a Co-ordinator of a Community Development Project which housed a large childcare facility before joining the Waterford City Childcare Committee as the Co-ordinator.
Noirin has two teenage children and enjoys a range of outdoor activities.
 

 
Helen Clancy - Administrator/Information Officer
 
 Helen is the first point of contact with the public and provides information on request about the work of the CCC. She carries out all administration and financial tasks to support all the work of the Committee. Her role ensures effective and smooth running of the office. Helen decided to return to part-time work after devoting many years to bringing up her four children, three of whom are graduates and one who is in his third year in college. Helen has done a range of courses to enhance her skills in administration and finance management. She has completed her Diploma in Computer Applications  and recently completed a course in Occupational First Aid leading to her being nominated as Health & Safety Officer to the Committee

Susan Power - Childminding Advisory Officer

Susan's role is to work closely with childminders in the city to provide advice, information, training and other supports necessary to promote quality childminding in the city.
Susan has a National Diploma in Applied Social Studies in Social Care.  She has tutored in Waterford Institute of Technology and also local quality courses for WC.C.C. Susan works part-time with the CCC and when she is not at work she is busy in her role as mother of three young girls


 
Máire Cooke – Childcare Services Development Officer
 
Máire joined the committee as Childcare Development Officer in 2006. Her role is to liaise with and support all childcare service providers in relation to training, grant applications, parent and toddler groups etc and to offer support and advice in these areas. Prior to joining WCityCC Máire worked as a deputy

manger in a community based childcare service. She works part-time Tuesday (am only) and Wednesday- Friday (full days).
 
Máire has a BA Hons Degree in Social Care as well as a Certificate in Training and Development. She is involved in delivering Síolta, Buntus Start, and Professional Development workshops and local quality training workshops  to childcare providers  She is a tutor for Waterford City VEC in delivering FETAC childcare courses.
 


Deirdre Lindy - Childcare Services Development Officer

Deirdre joined the committee as Childcare Development Officer in 2007. Her role is to liaise with and support all childcare service providers in relation to training, grant applications, provider networks etc and to offer support and advice in these areas. She is also involved in delivering Children First, Siolta and Portfolio Development workshops to providers. She has a BA Hons Degree in Social Care and has worked in many areas in the social care/childcare field with both community and statutory bodies. Prior to joining WCCC, Deirdre worked with a Social Housing/ Community Development organisation in Childcare and Family Resource. She works part time Monday-Wednesday with the committee. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, reading and walking.
